It is actually really confusing when referring to Indians or Native Americans.Native Americans were described by Columbus inaccurately as being Indian as he thought he reached the East Indies.It stuck through modern times.It bothers me that Native Americans who are racially and cultually distinct from Indians are called that.Besides I feel they would be comfortable with their tribal names like Navajo or Apache.
The name Indian should be reserved for Indians from India.
Natives of America should be referred to by their tribal names or as Amerindians to dispell any misunderstanding with those of Indian Asian ancestry.
BTW I haven't become used to making real news posts im still in the practising stages.
